Alien

Alien

Alien is probably the greatest Horror/Sci-Fi movie of all time with one of the most iconic creatures ever made. The Alien. It's long limbs and deadly chomp is a force to be reckoned with. H.R. Giger managed to create something amazing with his design of the Alien, which has been used and considered the benchmark of inspiration for a lot of movies since.

Cloverfield

Cloverfield

Quite a few years ago now, a little movie called Cloverfield managed to spark the interest of people from around the world, no-one at the time really knew what it was, all they knew was it was a monster movie. A monster movie produced by a man named J.J Abram's who'd just struck fame with Mission Impossible 3 and also from his involvement with Lost. Cloverfield as a movie wasn't bad, however, the monster portrayed in the movie was quite awesome.

The Host

The Host

The Host is an awesome Korean movie from 2006, which see's a giant amphibian that wreaks havoc on the population of South Korea! The movie centres around a family that's trying to survive the Monster madness. If you haven't seen this movie yet, it's a pretty good popcorn flick that's well worth the watch. The Amphibious/Alien/Creature thing looks pretty cool and the CGI is pretty sweet for a lowish budget Korean movie.

Reign Of Fire

Reign of Fire

I guess this is quite a strange one for the list. However dragons are not real, so it counts. Reign Of Fire for me is one of those really underrated movies that you don't really hear about until quite a few years after it's made, or at least that was the case, for me. We have a youngish Christian Bale taking on the hordes of evil dragons who have plagued mankind, setting us all on fire and pretty much taking over the entire planet. Good for them I say. Be sure to check it out as It's one of Christian Bale's best movies!

Starship Troopers

Starship Troopers

I couldn't wait to get to this little gem, one of the most awesome Action/Sci-Fi movies ever made. The creatures in Starship Troopers that really freaked me out when I was a kid. Even to this day I still think the aliens in Starship Troopers had a really unique and fun style to them (especially the brain bug). Starship Troopers is a movie that you'll no doubt watch multiple times in your life, It's one of those movies that if it's on TV then you'll watch it.

The Thing

The Thing

Probably one of John Carpenters best movies, The Thing has all the ingredients for a great movie. A group of Scientists in the Antarctic are confronted by an alien that can assume the appearance of anyone that it kills. The Thing in it's original form is quite scary, as a human....not so much. Be sure to check out the original version and not that terrible, poor excuse for a reboot.

The Predator

The Predator

The Predator is one of those iconic characters that is just truly unique. I first watched The Predator back when I was young, I alway thought it was a brilliant movie. I think The Predator, from a design standpoint is great, it's a unique hunter, killer with an arsenal to match. One of the things I like about The Predator is that it kills for the hunt and only kills prey worthy enough or that have the means to fight back. They kind of ruined The Predator a little with all the sequels, however, the original still remains intact.

Tremors

Tremors

I think the term "underground slugs" is the best way to define what tremors are, except they're more evil. Way more evil. They can't see or hear but they can sense your body heat and burrow underground and attack you when you're tying your shoelaces or something. Tremors takes place in a small isolated town, with a group of people who have to defend themselves against the Tremors who are killing them off one by one. Tremors is a classic and well worth multiple viewings, especially if you're a fan of Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward.

Gremlins

Gremlins

If you get your Mogwai wet it will give birth to evil Gremlins. I'm not actually sure what that even means, even to this day, but I guess when you're a kid you'll go along with anything. Well, when I first watched Gremlins I kind of wanted my own pet Mogwai for many years. Then I realised that It would probably be more trouble than It's worth, mainly because It rains a lot in England and I'm sure the Mogwai would get wet on many occasions and give birth to a horde of Gremlins that would tear apart the world. Lucky for me. It's not real.

Rubber

Rubber

I really don't think this counts as a creature, since It's an inanimate object. But then I realised I can do whatever the hell I want. So here it is, Rubber.

A destrusctive tire descovers he has telepathic powers and soon turns against the town killing a lot of people in his path.

I'll never look at tires the same way again.
