The Running Man

The Running Man

What a classic. I'm sure Mr.King would be proud... I think. Personally, The Running Man, for me is one of Stephen Kings best movies. The Running Man is one of those movies that is a pure popcorn action movie that just gets better every time. The Running Man was made in 1987 for the big screen, adapted from a very successful Stephen King book. I think The Running Man stands the test of time, it's a fitting story that even fits into a society of today, reality television. Check out the Running Man trailer below.

The Mist

The Mist

I think The Mist is a movie that doesn't always get the credit it deserves. It's a movie that's purely brilliant, When Stephen King wrote 'The Mist' it was a huge success. The adaptation to the big screen, was another brilliant Frank Darabont masterpiece. In my opinion, The Mist is a movie that is just incredibly well made, well written and well acted. The ending was incredibly controversial, I think it was a brave bold move that strikes controversy with anyone who's ever watched The Mist. I'm sure Stephen King even has some of his own.

The Shining

The Shining

I think it's hard to say which is Stephen King's best book, It's even harder to say which is the best movie adaptation too. For me, It's too difficult to choose. I love The Shining, it's superb. Stephen King really is the master of suspense in his books, the detail helps it to translate perfectly on screen. The Shining is a ....shining example of that, excuse the pun. This is one of the earliest movies that really set a road map for adapting a Stephen king book into a movie. One which through decades has been very hard to live up to. Check out The Shining trailer below!

The Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption

Another brilliant Frank Darabont masterpiece, perhaps the very best Stephen king adaptation, also. Shawshank is everything you want from a movie, a brilliant storyline, great acting and just everything to 'feel right'. Sometimes a movie just clicks, each of the pieces seem to fit perfectly. It's how I feel when I watch Shawshank, It's a movie that will be at the very forefront of everyones minds when they mention 'What's the best movie ever made?'. In my opinion 'The Shawshank Redemption' is near the very top of the list, perhaps even at THE top. Check out 'The Shawshank Redemption' trailer below.

Thinner

The Thinner

I was only very young when I first saw Stephen Kings Thinner. I pretty much loved it. Everything about it. It's an incredibly ridiculous movie, but it's just the right type of ridiculous. Tom Holland does a brilliant job in even attempting to make a great movie out of 'Thinner', but somehow he manages it. It's not going to ever win any Academy Awards, but for what it was, it was great. It's one of my favourite Stephen King books, it's certainly not one of my favourite movie adaptations but it's definitely a must see. Check out 'Thinner' trailer below and awe at the spectacle!

Secret Window

Secret Window

Johnny Depp stars in 'Secret Window'. I wasn't sure what to make of 'Secret Window' when I first saw it. Sure it was kind of good, the acting was great and the story certainly had my attention, however something seemed to be missing. I'm not sure what exactly, I did though, enjoy it. It's a movie you can enjoy and not overly critique. 'Secret Window' was one of David Koepps first movies that he directed. I think he certainly has a lot of talent, his writing seems to be far superior though. 'Secret Window' is a movie you can watch just because it's a Stephen King adaptation, call me a sucker but I'll watch anything even loosely written/adapted by that man. Check out the 'Secret Window' trailer below.
