Probably one of the most famous and awesome quotes of all time, which for it's time seemed quite controversial. I'm sure if you've ever seen a movie quote list you'll have come across this little beauty, said by the great Clark Gable.
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." - Rhett Butler
Taxi Driver is known as one of the best Scorcesse movies of all time and no doubt that It's DeNiro's finest performance, which he made so early on in his career. This quote is said by everyone from around the world. It's indeed a classic, however, surprisingly, not many people actually knew it was from Taxi Driver.
"You talkin' to me?" - Travis Bickle
The Wizard Of Oz was an instant classic, with Judy Garland giving a superb performance, as Dorothy Gale. Wizard Of Oz has many quotables but none more so than this one.
"There's no place like home." - Dorothy Gale
James Bond is a franchise on a global scale, ever since the very beginning, the Ian Flemming books were superb and the movies were equally as good, in some cases. However, when Sean Connery first said this little beauty on screen, I think a lot of fans were jumping for joy, but on the inside.
"Bond. James Bond." - James Bond
Jack Nicholson really knew what he was doing with this movie. It's one of the coolest Nicholson performances of recent memory. The quote from A Few Good Men is one that will live with many people, forever. It's one of those cool quotes that you can say at any random moment and get a few laughs out of it.
"You can't handle the truth!" - Col. Nathan R. Jessup
Whenever I hear The Terminator soundtrack I instantly get excited and scared. Just incase there was actually a Terminator behind me. That would be pretty shitty. How could the most famous Arnie quote of all time not get included into the list? Don't get me wrong, Arnie has a lot of beauties but this is probably his most well known and most appreciated.
"I'll be back." - The Terminator
Run Forrest Run! That's a pretty famous quote, however this isn't one for the list, instead it's probably one of the weirdest quotes of all time, but still makes a lot of sense, even coming from Forrest. Who, might I add, accomplished quite a lot throughout his life.
"Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." - Forrest Gump
This quote is probably one that makes girls go weak at the knee's, especially when the hobbit Tom Cruise spews it out of his mouth. Jerry Maguire was such a cool movie, it was awesome, this quote makes it even better. I'm sure it's got many guys laid over the years.
"You had me at 'hello.'" - Jerry Maguire
Norman Bates was quite the psycho, ironically, being a character in the movie Psycho. Well, the weird sadistic nut job had a few little quirks throughout Hitchcocks classic, Psycho. This isn't one I'd recommend to say around a group of people, they'd just think you were a weirdo.
"A boy's best friend is his mother." - Norman Bates
Probably one of Pacino's most memorable moments, probably one of his best roles of all time, at least for me anyway. Tony Montana is a complete badass and to go out all guns blazing wouldn't be a huge surprise. If Pacino ever asks me to say hello to his little friend, I'll probably run a mile.
"Say 'hello' to my little friend!" - Tony Montana
So Rocky is probably one of the best screenplays of all time, Silvester Stallone really deserved all the acclaim he received through it, full perseverance and sticking with his morals throughout all the highs and lows of trying to get a studio backing of Rocky. This quote isn't the most in depth, however it has the most meaning. At least in context of the movie.
"Yo, Adrian!" - Rocky Balboa
Maybe regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time, it's probably fitting that the best actor of all time only says one of the coolest lines in cinema history. Which of course, is by the brilliant and maniacal Marlon Brando. In my opinion the very best actor of his generation, of all time.
"I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse." - Vito Corleone
Star Wars is probably one of the best Sci-Fi movies of all time and even still resonates very much so of todays generation, I guess as Han Solo so aptly puts it and mocks the Jedi order, it makes complete sense to add this to the list.
"May the Force be with you." - Han Solo
All the little alien wanted to do was get home, is that so hard to believe? Oh well, E.T certainly took matters into his own hands/paws/whatever they're called. He picked up his phone and made a few little calls and managed to get a lift home. That's just how E.T rolls though.
"E.T. phone home." - E.T
Martin Brody was one bad ass dude, one which I wouldn't mess with. I'd rather fight a shark than Martin Brody. I'd happily go fishing with him anytime. Oh well, I'm sure he made some shark Soup after Jaws. He probably had a hell of a lot of shark soup.
"You're gonna need a bigger boat." - Martin Brody
Lets get this straight, Dirty Harry is awesome and probably one of the slickest movies of all time. I really wouldn't feel very lucky around Dirty Harry, I mean, not many people are lucky when they go against him. So a small tip for you, try stay friends with Harry Callahan
"You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?" - Harry Callahan
I think when everyones a young adolescent growing up in the world, heading off to college you dream of getting with a hot milf. I think that's a standard thing. Well for Benjamin Braddock he actually got to fulfil that fantasy! Although things kind of took a turn for the worst, which they usually do in such circumstances.
"Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me. Aren't you?" - Benjamin Braddock
I don't think I quite trust people named Johnny, especially around doors. I don't know, I think Jack Nicholson managed to scar me for life on that one. I think The Shining still holds up with movies of today in terms of scare factor, it's a truly terrifying movie that for it's time had people quaking in their boots.
"Here's Johnny!" - Jack Torrance
He's back! but he's good this time, thank god. He's not an evil Terminator, he's a good one. Which is....good. I don't think having an evil Arnold Schwarzenegger running after you would ever be a good thing. I'm just glad he's still filled with puns and great lines. Arnie, thanks for everything.
"Hasta la vista, baby." - The Terminator
