Maybe Tarantino's finest movie and also his first. Reservoir Dogs is a classic, perhaps one of the best modern films ever made. It's got a star studded cast who truly put on a brilliant performance. The best thing about Tarantino is that he knows how to get the very best out of his actors, in which he does so in Reservoir Dogs. The story features a simple jewelery heist that goes terribly wrong, the surviving criminals begin to suspect that one of them is a police informant, from there, the masterpiece begins to unfold.
After Reservoir Dogs Tarantino went on to create this gem, Pulp Fiction. Highly regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made, I'm inclined to agree. The story is gripping and intense, the dialogue is beautiful and mesmerising it is everything a movie should be.
Kill Bill is sadistic and maniacal. A story hell bent on revenge. For me, this is one of Tarantino's best movies. It's sexy, smart and has some incredible action and dialogue, a brilliant combination of everything on screen working perfectly. Kill Bill: Vol. 1 is the first in a two parter which see's "The Bride" (Uma Thurman) hellbent on killing all those who've wronged her in the past. Without giving too much away, it's a movie you really have to see at least once in your lifetime.
Kill Bill: Vol 2, in my opinion outshines it's predecessor (which is saying a lot considering how good Kill Bill: Vol 1 was). This is 'The Bride' on her final journey in exacting revenge on her mentor Bill (David Caradine). However, along the way, Bill has a few surprises up of his own. The whole Kill Bill franchise is amazing and worth your every attention, Quentin Tarantino has stated he has plans for perhaps making Kill Bill a trilogy, which to me, is quite an exciting prospect.
Django Unchained is the latest movie from Quentin Tarantino. The Story see's slave Django (Jamie Foxx) hunting down the people responsible for taking his wife, Broomhilda. Along with the help of Dr. King Schultz (Christophe Waltz) they travel to Mississipi to free Django's wife from the evil slave owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Django Unchained is one of them movies that is a rarity. Quite possibly the best movie of the year, thus far. I can only hope Quentin Tarantino continues to make movies of this calibre for many years to come.
Inglorious Basterds has some of the most gripping scenes in cinema history. Christophe Waltz makes a worldwide name for himself in this movie as Col. Hans Landa, the evil tyrant hellbent on killing as many Jews as possible. However, In Nazi-occupied France a group of American soldiers, known as 'The Basterds are sent to exact some revenge of their own...
